This year Elul launched a writers' beit midrash for advanced students of text with writing experience. The program comprises three segments:
In-depth text study
Creative writing generated by the study
Group work on the texts
Each of these three aspects generates a live and refreshing dialogue with the texts.
This year's study topic is Shmita as it relates to:
People, the Land, the Sabbath and God
Holding on, letting go, control and abandonment, nurturing and neglect, giving and taking
Bible, mishna, Talmud, literature and philosophy
This Beit Midrash program takes place on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
