Roni Yavin
Executive Director of Elul

Roni was born and raised in Kfar Yehezkel, a moshav in the Jezreel Valley. She holds a B.A. in Jewish and Near Eastern History and an M.A. in Contemporary Judaism with a concentration in Jewish education and Talmud instruction. Her thesis examined the relationship between selected issues in Talmud and the Israeli student.

Roni is the mother of three children.



Noa Feller
Coordinator of the Learning Communities

Noa earned her B.A. in the humanities department of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a master's degree in Climatic and Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University.

For a number of years, Noa worked in environmental protection and land use planning, and for six additional years in educational administration as the vice-principal of a high school for former 'drop-outs.'

In a parallel career, Noa practices as a healer in the field of holistic medicine.

 


Chaviva Berman
Special Programs Coordinator
 

Chaviva completed a B.A. in logistics and Jewish history, and an M.A. in Jewish history at Bar Ilan University. For the four years before becoming special programs coordinator, Chaviva was the office manager of Elul.

She lives in Elazar and is the mother of three.

  
 


Heftsiba Cohen-Montagu
Coordinator, Elul's Overseas Programs

Heftsiba completed her B.A. in archaeology and Jewish history and her M.A. in Religious Studies at The Hebrew University. In addition, she studied group facilitation at Tel Aviv University.

Heftsiba studied in the Beit Midrash at Elul for three years, and from 2001-2004, facilitated study groups in San Jose, California.

She has also worked at the Center for Jewish Art at The Hebrew University and served as Deputy Curator at the Israel Museum for exhibitions pertaining to religion and culture.

 



Naama Shaked
Facilitator of Writers' Beit Midrash, Asufa Coordinator

Naama is originally from the north of Israel. An artist and writer, she serves on the editorial board of the Mashiv HaRuach poetry journal, facilitates Hebrew poetry study workshops, and has helped to initiate a new study and creative midrashic writing group. For several years prior to her present position, Naama was on the staff of the Central Beit Midrash at Elul.

Shmuel Adler

A "child of Jerusalem" (it's genetic – ten generations)

Shmuel works in various realms relating to education and philosophy – Jewish philosophy, philosophy of science and education, and administers a program on behalf of the Karev Foundation. He is also knowledgeable and practiced in the world of movement and martial arts.

He is in final stages of writing his Masters thesis in the Hebrew University Philosophy Department on the question of "Intuition as a Realist Method."

 


Iddo Gotthold

Iddo studied in a yeshiva for IDF combat soldiers (hesder) and in the Hebrew University Talmud Department, and taught in various frameworks. He then switched his academic focus to clinical psychology, and is now completing his Master's degree in this field.

Amos Yinon
Facilitator of the Tel Aviv Learning Community

Gabi grew up in Tel Aviv.

Born and raised in Ramat Gan. Studied for many years at the Har Etzion Yeshiva and Yeshivat Siach, and currently completing his studies in philosophy at the Hebrew University.

In the past facilitated at "Maagal," formerly a young people's beit midrash that operated in conjunction with the Hashomer HaTzair youth movement, and taught poetry and Hasidism at the Beit Yisrael mixed secular and religions pre-army program in Jerusalem. Amos has published poetry in the journals Mashiv HaRuach and Dimui.

 


Arit Ansbacher-Lanzman
Facilitator of the Jordan Valley Learning Community

Born and raised in Ma'aleh Adumim, Arit has a B.A. in communication and is a certified copywriter in advertising.

 



Dinny Deutsch
Facilitator of the Beer Sheva Learning Community

Born and raised in Jerusalem, and today lives in Yerucham and is involved in "Bamidbar," The Creative Jewish Learning Center in Yerucham. One more thing: he exists between the natural sciences and the humanities – the latter is a matter of subsistence.

 



Gabi Yair
Facilitator of the Artists' Learning Community in Herzliya

Grew up in Tel Aviv. Education: B.A. in Architecture from the Technion, and M.A. in industrial design from the Pratt Institute in New York.



Gera Tuvia
Facilitator of the Jerusalem Learning Community and of Short-Term Study Programs

Born and raised on Kibbutz Hammadia. Education: Bible, and Modern History of the Islamic Countries (Hebrew University), Judaism and Zionism (the Kibbutz Movement and Elul), drawing (Betzalel and private instructors).

Teaches Zionism at the pre-army study program at Aderet. Taught and facilitated at Midreshet Yeud, the Uri Tzvi Greenberg House (Beit Atzag), Oranim College, HaNoar HaOved and Machanot Olim youth movements, and others. Among the founding members of Elul.

 



Ilana Marmour
Facilitator of Writers' Beit Midrash and of the Olim (Immigrants) Learning Community in Jerusalem

ABorn in France to Tunisian-born parents, Ilana grew up in a Parisian suburb and upon completing high school, moved to Israel. In addition to her work at Elul, Ilana has an interest in the natural sciences and the humanities. She holds a B.A. in biology and is currently working on her Master's degree. Simultaneously, she is studying in the 'Nishmat' halakhic advisors' program. Ilana combines her experience as a former olah chadasha (new immigrant) in her work with the with the group at Elul, while helping them gain a broad familiarity with Jewish culture and the "feeling of home" that comes with this process.

 


Yehudah Taubman
Facilitator of Writers' Beit Midrash and of the Pardes Chana and Zikhron Yaakov Learning Communities

Education: B.A. and M.A. in Judaic Studies

 


Yoram Shoer
Facilitator of the Kibbutz Na'an Learning Community

Born on Na'an and raised between bales of hay, fields, and children's houses. Education: B.A. in Bible and Literature from Tel Aviv University, M.A. in Judaic Studies, teaching track, from the Shechter Institute. Facilitator of the Teachers-Parents-Students Community that serves the Brenner High School, a regional high school located at Kibbutz Giv'at Brenner.

Orli Biron
Office Manager

Orli holds a B.A. in psychology, and has studied group facilitation and mediation, as well as accounting.

Worked for 15 years in various jobs in the finance department of the Malam company. Today, she works as Elul's office manager and facilitates parenting groups at the Adler Institute.

She has three children.



Naomi Berzovski
Elul's National Service Volunteer

Naomi lives in Mevaseret Tzion, and graduated from the Harel High School with a concentration in film..
